Dear Friend,
Hi! and "Khabar baik?" "Khabar baik" is a Malay phrase, which literally translated, means "Good news?" This is how we greet each other in the Malay language in Malaysia. This Malaysian salutation simply means that we really hope that all's well with you. So this is my Malaysian greeting to you and a very warm "Selamat Datang" or Welcome to our AsianMeals.com website.
Now, I would like to share with you a story about a Malaysian boy. Several decades ago, there was this boy who was born to a family of three boys with no girls. Being the youngest, he was always bullied to stay back to help Mom in the kitchen, instead of running around chasing kites, playing football and catching spiders. (Those were the thrills of the day and not computer games.) Mom indeed was a dedicated cook and ensured that dinner was nothing less than three dishes and a soup, to go with rice.
This boy grew up, became a "bean counter" (sorry you CAs out there, no offense meant!), got married to his classmate, after she returned from London, and both pursued their respective careers.
Coming home worn and weary from the day's rat race, dinner was either eating instant noodles, salad and bread or at the best fish & chips. He soon developed a strong yearning for the sumptuous food that he grew up with and could not take refuge in his late mother's cooking. His newly wedded wife, like most young career women, does not have the time, energy and sometimes the know how, as cooking those lovely traditional dishes, like rendang, a coconut lemongrass curry, could take hours!
This young man, guys, is this old bloke that you see illustrated here. Well, behind every cloud there is a silver lining. This experience gave me the challenge and vision to do what we, myself, my partners, my friends, my agents, my staff, my customers and last but not least my family, has put together today... a complete manufacturing, marketing and franchising infrastructure, to provide a complete and ever growing range of Asian Ethnic Sauces for all you guys out there, so that you can have the best of both worlds which I could not have a quarter century ago.
We have over 100 products and these products are all complete recipes in themselves except for the meat, seafood or vegetables. If you follow the simple one to three steps cooking, it is impossible to go wrong, and you will discover a new realm of cooking authentic Asian delicacies with no fuss.
Besides the convenience and simplicity, those of you who are experienced cooks will further discover the flexibility of using the products to your own preference in taste and style.
If you are new to the kitchen, you will be amazed by the restaurant quality dishes that you can dish out with Asian Meals.
Happy Cooking and Bon Appetite!
